Finally Microsoft made an end to all speculation of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 release. Though it was released before for Original Equipment Manufacturers and MSDN subscribers, the end users did not get a chance to update their PC with Service Pack 1. Microsoft claims that the Service Pack 1 is also available through windows Update at the same time.

If you are going to install Windows Vista SP1 on a single PC then it is recommended to download it through Windows Update. The Service Pack downloaded over Windows Update is only 65 MB for 32 bit version and 125 MB for 64 bit version of Vista contrary to 450 MB and 745 MB over the standalone installer download from Microsoft download center. The Service Pack 1 has been released in 5 languages viz English, French, German, Spanish, and Japanese. Microsoft has published the Things to know before you download Windows Vista SP1 and it is a must read.

So if you have a slow Internet connection or do not have an Internet connection at all,  you may download it from Windows Vista Sp1 download link.
