Whilst I agree that overall technically the Samsung Instinct is superior to the iPhone, that doesn’t necessarily make it a better phone. For example one thing many people like about the iPhone is the ease of use of the user interface which is generally considered superior t other touch screen phones, not having used the Instinct I don’t know how it compares on this front and therefore makes it difficult to state which is best merely on the technical specifications.

i will say iphone is the best.samsung is ok but not really like iphone.the main advantage of iphone is its apple application store which has really nice application for iphone.

well, I’ve been using the instinct for about 7 months now and I have been nothing but frustrated with it. it’s slow, applications fail to load half of the time, the keyboard touch pad is too small and can’t keep up with you if you press keys too fast, the spell check is horrible and trying to fix your mistakes in the editor is very difficult, it’s very difficult to scroll through lists without selecting an option that you didn’t intend on selecting, oh and the web browser has to be one of the worst web browser I’ve used on a cell phone since 2000.

however, I do like the live-search feature and the gps and voice command recognition aren’t bad.

I would not suggest this phone to anyone over 17 years old, it seems more geared for high school students.

A friend of mine waited so long for an iphone, then he get bored and purchased the Instint. Now he’s not happy because of lack of Wi-fi and the limitations when it comes to surfing the web. Don’t know, i like the idea of saving a good sum and having some more, but if you don’t want to miss crucial features maybe it’s better to go with iPhone.

Thanks for the update on the Samsung Instint. I’m really waiting for a really good Motorola touch screen phone though. I was sold on Motorola ever since my daughter’s Motorola flip phone fell down an elevator shaft from the 4th floor and survived. The Motorola ROKR E8 hasn’t convinced me that they’re ready to compete in this market yet.

How can you not mention the fact that it doesn’t have WI-FI in the main review? This is a crucial missing feature that goes unmentioned when comparing to the iPhone. I don’t care how fast 3G is, you won’t always have reception, much less 3G service in remote areas and, I dunno, basements. The lack of WI-FI alone puts the instinct WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY, WAAAAAAAY below the iPhone. The fact that the reviewer doesn’t mention this when making the comparison is irresponsible to readers.

Apple iPhone can’t be the best phone all the time, so it was a fact, that there will be more and more mobilephones using the same technology but with some changes. And sure this “Instinct” looks nice, but anyhow, it looks like the iPhone, only a bit bigger. But I’ve to thank you for the great informations.

It’s hard to match Apple Products in the electronics market because they are so solid.

I bought the instinct about a month ago and at first thought it was the best purchase i’d ever made. Since then i have discovered many issues with it and am not so convinced that it is better after all. First of all, there is no streaming capability beyond youtube. I have tried using many different websites to stream music and none of them work. The browser is ok but alot of websites will soft reset the phone. I even had some of my playlist and even an entire artist file erased from the memory card randomly. I am frustrated and totally unimpressed by this phone. I’m taking it back tomorrow morning, and getting an iphone.
