Microsoft 2019: Future of technology in 10 years
In the recently concluded Wharton Business Technology Conference, Microsoft’s Business Division president Stephen Elop has unveiled a video prepared by Microsoft Office Labs which shows Microsoft’s vision for technology in future. Codenamed as Microsoft 2019, this video shows how technology can be used to make our life much better in 10 years from now. Microsoft lab is considering a lot of innovation and some of the ideas has already taken shape. The footage shown in the video is nothing less than the scenes from some of the Sci-fi Hollywood flicks.
When Microsoft came up with the Surface last year, it created quite a buzz in the community and now this video about Microsoft’s prediction for the future of technology has made every one Ga Ga. And when there is backing of Microsoft with a hoard of great mind behind this, there is not an iota of doubt that we will be seeing all these coming into reality. Thanks Microsoft.

It is cool to see the way mirosoft envisions the future, but I cannot help but think it will be different. I am guessing it will be a conglomeration of all sorts of technologies everywhere and some of those microsoft will have had a hand in. I do think that microsoft is good at putting ads together and they should focus on that more.

I saw the video earlier on GSM’s website.. It’s cool to think of this things happening. But will we still be alive to witness all these transpire? lol..

Microsoft really do seem to be pushing the technology forward to benefit everyones lives and of course making a nice profit along the way. Without their forward way of thinking I wonder just how far computer technology would have advanced over the past few years.
Fingers crossed Inday, the Mayans predictions wont come true and we will be.

Wow that was some nice inventions. I think may favorite was the credit card that changed between different cards. That’ll make my wallet smaller (in a good way). What was that thing the woman used to capture the screen at a meeting?

Wow, the future looks great. I’m sure we will see these technologies in our lifetime. Maybe in the next 15 years.

I’m hoping that apple will catch up with MS as they produce better quality machines and more user friendly software. I expect to see a massive 10 years from apple.

I wonder if they will be more open source oriented in the next 10 years. I’ve watched a few videos of Bill talking about it. I also wonder what will Apple, Google and the other big companies do.
Comment by Bill on 19 March 2009:
In the video the technology used is very advanced. I think it will take 50 more years to launch in the market. You know lot of things are launched as touch pad but its too expensive for middle class people. So people it’s not that much easy.

There was a lot of cool stuff in that video. Personally, I liked the newspaper thing. I loved how it folded up and looked like a newspaper. You could get your news on other devices, but they throw in a bit of the old-school feel with that device.
