Why samsung Instinct is better than Apple iPhone
Apple has finally saw a tough competitor against it’s much popular and much hyped PDA phone iPhone and the competitor is the Instinct phone from samsung stable. when iPhone was released with much fanfare like any other new Apple product everybody were thinking that it is the best and most sleek phone and will conquer the market unanimously. But the recent launch of Instinct the Phone has proved everything wrong. There are a host of features in Instinct to become everyone’s lovey dovey gadgets.
Let’s have a look on the features to compare why Samsung’s Instinct is much better than Apple’s iPhone.
Technical specification of Instinct:

iPhone has a larger 3G network: No, infact the 3G capability of iPhone is lesser then Instinct:
iphone 3G has become much cheaper just $199 so I must grab it. Wait…You have not checked the price of Instinct, at $129.99 it is much more affordable with a loads of more benefits.
But iPhone has an assisted GPS feature which will help me in nagigation. Are you a fool, did you check the GPS feature in instinct? It has voice guided GPS navigation system.
Speech to action is another feature which is not present in iPhone but a part of Instinct.
If you are thinking that you can watch LiveTV with your much uber iPhone then give it a second thought, it will not cherish your desire. But yes Instinct can.
Though both the sleek gadgets have a 2.0MP camera, Instinct can shoot video but iPhone cannnot.
Now you decide whether you would go for an Instinct or for much hyped iPhone. The only thing what I liked about iPhone is the look and the sleek design.
Bottom Line: Samsung has injected a lot of feature in Instinct but they forgot to look nto the design aspect of the phone else they could have done definitely a more appealing design.

The instinct does not have multi-touch… its simple touchscreen is a pretty weak UI.

I think at that price that it’s good value – look at some of the stuff that they’re trying to flog for around 75 -80 bucks – has anyone had any problems buying direct from China?

I like the touchscreen so much I wouldn’t change my Iphone for any other existing phone on market. Maybe in few years we see real competing phone worth buying but I think they have big advantage compared to other providers of phones currently.
So for me Iphone is still the one and only that I would use of the new ones.

This looks like a tough competition for the iphone indeed. The instinct looks really good and a pretty tough competitor in the phone market. I’m pretty sure that the people working for apple will think of some way to make theirs a bit better.

I’m sorry but i don’t think anything can even touch the new iPhone 3G at the moment and i strongly believe it is the hottest gadget around (mainly because i have one lol) i believe that there are many improvements that could be made to the iPhone and i am sure they will come in the future. But for now i strongly believe it’s the number 1 phone out there and will be until another new iPhone is released!

This is really a personal choice both the samsung and iphone have good benefits. You may have more flexibility with the samsung however there are some features I believe on the iphone that are not with the samsung. You really need to compare the specs and based on your lifestyle pick the best one.

The Samsung might be a better phone, but it will still have a problem competing with the iPhone. There are after all quite a few Apple slaves that cannot imaging buying anything but Apple, Apple and more Apple.

I think the iPhone will win out in the end. Samsung develop lots of different phones whereas Apple are just concentrating on the one so should be able to add more features and tweak the existing ones sufficiently enough to win this battle.

I love the instinct and Samsung has released several updates since the original release of the phone. In the beginning Iphone had a better web browser but now with the release of BH29 the phone run-on an entirely new browser. The touch screen is great and the navigating is VERY accurate and VERY step by step voice automated. I had a new Iphone 3G and tried the New instinct with sprint and NOT contest Instinct wins you honestly have to try it its amazing!

They both look like pretty good phones, but neither is perfect. I’m content to wait for a bit longer before I decide what to get. Too many of my friends have problems with their iPhones for me to feel comfortable spending a couple of hundred on it.

I have the instinct, infact im on it right now ! its pretty good but the i phone is definatley worth the extra money, my mom has one and one of the many things it does better than this is if your on youtube the sound and picture quality are so much better than the instinct. i find it hard to get on alot of sites and with the iphone its just like a computer.
another thing is that i cant figure out how to get music on it and ive had it since it came out.

Even though i always had apple computers, i was never ever fully sure that the iphone was the ultimate cell phone that everybody seems to endorse. In my view this gizmo lacjed too much fundamental features. I’m happy that there is someone else telling the truth.

I bought the instinct about a month ago and at first thought it was the best purchase i’d ever made. Since then i have discovered many issues with it and am not so convinced that it is better after all. First of all, there is no streaming capability beyond youtube. I have tried using many different websites to stream music and none of them work. The browser is ok but alot of websites will soft reset the phone. I even had some of my playlist and even an entire artist file erased from the memory card randomly. I am frustrated and totally unimpressed by this phone. I’m taking it back tomorrow morning, and getting an iphone.

How can you not mention the fact that it doesn’t have WI-FI in the main review? This is a crucial missing feature that goes unmentioned when comparing to the iPhone. I don’t care how fast 3G is, you won’t always have reception, much less 3G service in remote areas and, I dunno, basements. The lack of WI-FI alone puts the instinct WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY, WAAAAAAAY below the iPhone. The fact that the reviewer doesn’t mention this when making the comparison is irresponsible to readers.

Thanks for the update on the Samsung Instint. I’m really waiting for a really good Motorola touch screen phone though. I was sold on Motorola ever since my daughter’s Motorola flip phone fell down an elevator shaft from the 4th floor and survived. The Motorola ROKR E8 hasn’t convinced me that they’re ready to compete in this market yet.

A friend of mine waited so long for an iphone, then he get bored and purchased the Instint. Now he’s not happy because of lack of Wi-fi and the limitations when it comes to surfing the web. Don’t know, i like the idea of saving a good sum and having some more, but if you don’t want to miss crucial features maybe it’s better to go with iPhone.

well, I’ve been using the instinct for about 7 months now and I have been nothing but frustrated with it. it’s slow, applications fail to load half of the time, the keyboard touch pad is too small and can’t keep up with you if you press keys too fast, the spell check is horrible and trying to fix your mistakes in the editor is very difficult, it’s very difficult to scroll through lists without selecting an option that you didn’t intend on selecting, oh and the web browser has to be one of the worst web browser I’ve used on a cell phone since 2000.
however, I do like the live-search feature and the gps and voice command recognition aren’t bad.
I would not suggest this phone to anyone over 17 years old, it seems more geared for high school students.

Whilst I agree that overall technically the Samsung Instinct is superior to the iPhone, that doesn’t necessarily make it a better phone. For example one thing many people like about the iPhone is the ease of use of the user interface which is generally considered superior t other touch screen phones, not having used the Instinct I don’t know how it compares on this front and therefore makes it difficult to state which is best merely on the technical specifications.
